Its not too bad, can be done without removing the inlet manifold it all depends if you have the tag that covers the 13mm bolt that holds the bracket on that keeps in the dizzy. First thing is to check if that you have a spark, easiest thing to do first is to check if the dizzy gear is turning, take the cap off for the leads and ask some one to just flick crank the engine to see if the rotor arm will turn if it does then check if there is a spark from one of the leads.Comment

If it has got the security tab over the dizzy bolt. First tape up any holes in the top me the gearbox bell housing to stop anything dropping in when you are trying to chisel it off. As if anything drops in there it will eventually knock the timing pin off. BTDT.Comment

Nice tip bri, I used a massive long screwdriver down thru the gap inbetween the head and inlet manifold and beat the hell out of it
One other thing on my 3b that helped was the previous owner had enlarged the 2 holes underneath the battery from two triangles into one square and helped access thru to stuff that was troublesome to get to

Remove the cover from the top of the relay in position 10.
Crank the car see if the relay is operated.
If not it is either.
The haul sender on the dizzy.
The sensor for the flywheel timing pin
The pin itself is damaged
or there is a broken connection on one of the above.Comment

Untill the ecu realises that the engine is spinning it will not send the earth signal to the Fuel pump relay no 10. Untill this gets triggered the injectors and the coil do not fire. It would be my first point of call.Comment

Am I missing something here? Check for spark? Turn it over? Surely the first thing to do bearing in mind there is no compression, is check the timing?
Put it to TDC, remove the number one spark plug, stick a long screwdriver in the hole and make sure it is in actual fact at TDC by turning the bottom pulley a small amount each way by hand. (that will check the bottom pulley is in the right place) Then make sure the cam pulley lines up with the mark.Comment
