Have anyone got logs of IAT using the Wagner or other aftermarket IC?
What would be interesting to see is IAT vs rpm vs ambient temp during a 3rd or 4th gear pull
i have with mine loads of them,on 2 different setups, but my intecooler is custom made so it would be difficult to compare to the usual IC that people use
I have some logging of my Wagner setup with the CT355 turbo and re-clocked cams
Ambient temp 13,9 degrees Celsius, 3th gear, 6800 RPM, 294 Kpa boost, AIT = 34 degrees C
Ambient temp 13,9 degrees Celsius, 4th gear, 6500 RPM, 306 Kpa boost, AIT = 50 degrees C
Ambient temp 13,9 degrees Celsius, 5th gear, 6500 RPM, 311 Kpa boost, AIT = 61 degrees C
We stopped at those 5th gear RPM speeds, as it got a bit scary on the pitch dark Autobahn and it's turns
Excellent.
In my logs (and others), IATs drop as you go WOT at low rpm (airflow w/o boost), then increase with rpm.
For example, 3rd gear run:
Ambient: 6c
Temp inside airbox: 8c
IAT@2000rpm: 13.3c
IAT@2500-3500rpm: 11.9c
IAT@4000-5500: 13c
Then increases to 17c at 7200rpm
4th gear pull:
Ambient: 6c
Temp inside airbox: 8c
IAT@2000rpm: 13c
IAT@2500-3500rpm: 12c
IAT@4000-5500: 14c
Then increases to 24c at 7200rpm (20c at 6400rpm)
This with Turbonetics T04 E50 turbo with KKK#8. Stock RS2 IC.
Peak boost is approx 2.15bar from approx 3600rpm in 4th, approx 4000rpm in 3rd.
Seems that aux rad delete helps keep things cool, in addition to plastic boost pipe painted silver, with underside covered in reflective aluminium tape.
my highest IAT on 7000rpm on 4th gear was 35C recently with 16C outside temp. Need to recheck though on other gears. (that is with water injection OFF)
