Coolant leak, please help!

you can buy VAG G12+ or G12++ from your local audi garage, 1.5l I put in mine about €12/£10, fill it up the rest of the way to the mark with DISTILLED water.

I had the exact same problem on mine a little while ago. The housing around the pump was leaking so got a new pump from S2 Avant and solved the issue. From what I have heard the GSF ones arent great quality though.

The fact that audi spec'd a pump from a washing machine has to be very suspect. 90 deg water max and a clean environment compared to 110 during afterrun and salt / grime / water etc. I went for OEM over GSF just because the saving was only £30.

Yeah I decided it wasnt worth the risk. I had enough hassle with nissen rads in the past.

Problem now resolved by fitting new secondary water pump, thanks to Quattro Corner not only offering the best price but also having one in stock and delivered next day!

Also took the opportunity to drain the system down and fit the Samco water hoses that we've had sitting in the garage...

Nice move on the Samco water hoses, that should be you trouble free for a while.

Update, completed my 1st piece of S2 D.I.Y last week and changed the water pump successfully. Also changed over most of the cooling system hoses over with samco one's whilst I was at it that we had lying around in the garage.
