    Rev related?!

Still haven't got this sorted as up until this weekend it had been fine with city driving and no long trips.

But yesterday afternoon on the motorway the temp started to get up to the first dot while cruising on the motorway. So I put the heaters on and slowed down. When the temp had dropped I turned off the heating and did some tests.

Basically I've found that the problem is rev related. If I keep the revs below 2.5k then the temp is stable just over 90 as soon as revs are maintained above 2.5k then the temperature starts to rise.

Over the weekend I also established that the fan kicks in when it should, on tickover the water is circluating as it should, the water system is fully bled, it's not using any water and oil is staying clean.

    So any ideas?

Thanks, I was hoping that someone would say that! It's been suggested by a garage I've been speaking to!

Before I book it in is there any other logical explanation?

personally cant think of any, could always drain it down again, remove the stat and them check if it rotates or not. In theory it shouldnt as the car isn't running but would of course indicate its failed.

Hello, normally on a S2 Coupe ABY when fan start? On mine start when the temperature is a bit over 90°C, about at the centre of gauge, not at 90°C like on the RS2.
Is this normally? I have a new fan switch.
            Thanks!
