Washer pump - power lead worn through!

OK... so my last-minute plan to make it to CC is falling apart

Dug out my spare GSF washer pump, managed to get the old pump free by 'feel' and first thing I noticed was that one of the wires was worn through the insulation with only a few strands connected, right where it enters the plug so no room to cut + solder

Thought I'd try the other pump just in case with no joy (which only has 2 prongs rather than the 3 of the original - would it work anyway?)

So now I'm resigned to having to re-wire this thing but the plug doesn't seem to come apart. Can i buy a new one from somewhere, or is there elsewhere on the car with a non-MOT failing component I cut the bloody thing off of? Really stumped as to how I can get the pump working now!

    Any ideas?

simple bodge would be to snip the connector off and just get some spades on the pins on the pump and wire in that way...? Just a thought then when you have a bit more time sort it properly with a new connector

OK, couldn't get the pump to work anyway so I think it was duff. Thanks to Acidburn i had a spare plug with a foot of wire from a V6 loom... so spliced that onto the wires and plugged it in. The 3rd wire is redundant though, the new GSF pump is clearly different as it (a) only had 2 pins and (b) once removed i realised it has a second water intake from the bottle.

Does anyone know what the function of this 3rd wire is? Anything to do with a level sensor for the washer bottle perhaps

Good news is, the new pump works fine and I utilised what I'm calling 'Lauras washerpump mod' which is a bolt wrapped in blue-tac forced into the hole in the washer bottle, due to the absence of a second intake on the new pump... so no leaks.
