    Problem with remap

I made a remap on the ecu of my 3b s2.Here are the graphs from the dyno.We replaced the map sensor with 250 kpa.I think the power we achieved is not enough. The maper said that the can t go more than 1.1 bar. They tried to raise it from the wastegate but the car went in limp mode under hard accelarion at 4th gear. Can you give me any suggestions how to solve the problem.Thank you in advance.

You can go to 1.4 bar with the K24 but are you running stock exhaust manifold, downpipe and exhaust?

The graph shows you are running a little too rich with fueling for peak power although have good safety margins.

Sound like you need to check and replace the N75 valve and make sure you have no vacuum and boost leaks.

188bhp at the wheels isn't so bad, something like 250-60bhp at the fly from memory. AFRs look fine (as Jamo says, they're safe) and the shape of the power curve isn't so bad either. A 3B with just a remap is unlikely to be much over 270bhp. IC, DP & exhaust etc. required to push the late 200s.

Just to check, you're running 98 fuel?

Thank you guys for the fast replies.Yes the exhaust is stock and the fuel i 98 octane. The car is running the 400 m for 15.09 s. I think this is too slow for this car.Maybe the problem is in the driver , but i m not sure.

Stock exhaust then the figures are bang on. you need a bigger downpipe and 2.75 or 3" exhaust system to get the best from the car

I guess you will also have a stock intercooler

these are other things that ideally should have been fitted prior to remap to get the best from the car.

Yes, the intercooler is stock. What intercooler i should use.Which is the most common upgrade.

Oh and a big plus is ditching the 3b airbox for a aby or rs2 box

You have 4 main choices listed worst to best upgrade path

                1) ABY intercooler
                2) RS2 intercooler
                3) Ebay intercooler
                4) Wagner RS2 EVO intercooler

Ebay intercooler is the best cost effective one but then you have to custom fit boost pipes and cross member

Wagner is the most expensive but stock fitmet ( comes with adapter bracket ) http://www.wagner-tuning.de/EN/produ...6RS2EVOLLK.php

If you PM Lupo911 on here ( wagner ) he can do sales with 10% forum discount

whys the run being done in 3rd....I thought 4th gear was normal. Ambient temperature looks ok at 22degrees, was there a honking great fan sat in front of the engine too?

4th for the 6 speed, 3rd for the 5 speed when I did the rolling road day

If the rolling road has small rollers, we used higher gears to get full boost. Maybe you should that also on this RR.

You should get more boost on a 250kpa sensor in a 3B. My 3B had that sensor also and did more than 1.1 bar.

ABY IC is fine for a little k24, depends on your future plans. RS2 IC works better, Wagner RS2 Evo is better still.

3" DP with either 3" or 2.75" system will do you well too.

Other things are a Samco inlet hose, they're a bigger bore and smoother and also replace your DV, a 710N is fine but will last about a year at 1.5bar, APR R1 is the best for response, Forge and other piston ones are fairly bulletproof and widely available for about £60, don't get a fake though and make sure it's not leaking... there are a few DVs pop up on here for good money, get a service kit and you're done.

Other than that, you're looking at things like cams & timing, flowed head, RS2 EM etc. etc. All a bit of overkill on a stock turbo but the gains are there to be had (although small) and it's all a good thing to sort for the future and a big blower

To me it sounds like your mapper does not know how to tune the software found in the 87C257 chip.
Otherwise he would not need to mess with the wastegate (unless N75 was defective) and the car would not go into limp mode under boost, as it is possible to adjust the threshold.
