    Crank Pulley Vibration Damper

It's time for my AAN S4's cambelt to be replaced. I did some research here and found some additional "good idea to replace" bits to add.

My question is, do one replace the crank pulley vibration damper regardless (car has done 200k) or after it has been removed, how do one inspect to decide if it's worth the "$$$ investment"

    Reconditioned one's available?

You don't change the dumper I believe it will cost a fortune.....
You just replace/change the pulley fixed on the damper.
    Pulley Part Nr 034 105 263 A
    Bolts Part Nr N 014 726 3 (4 of them)
Also I would change the big bolt that holds the dumper
    Bolt Part Nr 034 105 229 A
Bolts cost few euros and pulley it's 32 euros and the big bolt it's 13 euros here in Italy.
I always change that pulley when I do my belt no matter the look nor the aspect of it.

Check the rubber for cracking and if it's gone brittle

For anyone replacing their crank damper, be aware that the 251"J" damper requires a washer that the original 251"H" damper did not need.

And a CroMo steel pulley would be a nice uppgrade also.
