Schoolboy Error - 7a Cam disaster!

I've had a 7a exhaust cam lying around for years and had finally reached the time when I was going to fit it today as part of my rebuild. However in a split second my intentions were struck a horrid blow! I managed to knock the cam off the bench, onto the concrete floor and it broke in two!! Looks like I'll be sticking with the standard cam afterall. Gutted...

I was installing an RS2 exhaust cam yesterday in my otherwise completely RS2'd AAN (93 S4) and that was my biggest fear: dropping the cam on the concrete floor. I can imagine how bad you feel. Good news: it was a 7A cam - more of those around.

Seen them snap when people bounce them of the limiter as the caps make their way loose.

On the other front on a stock head no real gains on 7A exhaust on a reworked head I've got dyno figs before and after showing quicker spool and more power across revrange on a K24

it just snapped. i have no rev limiter.

presume weak. no engine damage. one valve stuck open.

                lucky, lucky.

i think there is minimal if anything on a 7a upto 500hp. i think its also a proven thing. the aby's pull better than the 7a's
