    Temperature prob

    Hi guys

Car running at normal temp when on the move but when idling (stopped at lights or in traffic) the temp rises quickly. As soon as I moving again it returns to normal temp.

Need to get this sorted as its getting to the stage where I drive out of my way to avoid traffic.

    Whats the most likely cause?

    Cheers
    Jon

Temperature should stay always between 90 and 95°C, the latter normally being temp at which cooling fan comes on.
If your temp is fluctuating over 10-15° it seems to me your termostatic valve has to be replaced.

There is also a possibility of air in cooling system if you have changed coolant recently.

Usualy I turn on the car so the water pump will start working , then you fill the tank with coolant and pump water pipes with hand so the air will come out. Saved me few times with different cars .

But most likely fan resistor block don't work the way it should. Or termostatic valve as Marco suggested.
