    Wastegate leaking oil?

After giving my 94 ABY a bit of a blast last night I could smell burning oil and a bit of smoke coming from the front grille.
I pulled over and opened the bonnet to investigate and noticed a small amont of oil on the bit of the wastegate diaphragm that sticks out beyond the housing. I'm guessing this isn't normal as i didn't think any oil flowed anywhere near the wastegate so as you can imagine i'm a bit worried to say the least.

There may be a couple of reasons for this that i can think of. 1) Car is burning oil and it seeping through the WG as the diagphram is not sealing OK. 2) Cars engine is 'breathing' heavily and oil vapour is going through the control hoses via the WGFV and into the WG itself.

    Just a thought

Thanks audiman i will check the WGFV tomorrow and it could do with a clean anyway just bought the car so i'm currently getting through an ever increasing list of "niggles".

Also could this symptom have anything to do with my misfire (see post Intermittant Misfire) i.e. oil clogging WGFV?

Thanks for the suggestions, much appreciated.
