    Coilpack Question

I’m in the market for new coilpacks. I’m considering either the 034 High Output kit or the EFI Express kit (the latter is less money so preferred option). I do not have a reversed intake manifold so have standard intake plumbing adjacent to the bulkhead. My main reservation is siting the coilpack modules with my car’s standard plumbing.
I’m not in a position to be able to fabricate a custom bracket and would like a bolt on mounting solution. Anyone done either of these (who has normal intake plumbing) and can show me pics of the chosen site of their coilpack modules? Both suppliers can supply a bracket for their modules but there does not look to be much space for it in the RHD S2 application?
Also am I right in thinking with these kits that as the coilpacks are by the bulkhead it should be ok to replace the top cover without the overheating issues associated with the 1.8T coilpack option?

    Many thanks,

Both kits fit fine in Rhd application, I have the EFI kit at the moment it's simply cable tied to the strut brace, works fine.

Know what you mean about space though with stock IM you should be able to squeeze it in though

I noticed Marc has a new mounting kit out, I've PM'd him for details http://www.efiexpress.com/catalog/pr...products_id=54 as I want to know if it will work with RHD

      Thanks Jamo,

I've seen a pic of your installation in your project thread. Obviously you have a reversed IM.
Good to know the Efiexpress kit works well.

I'm still keen to see any installations with a stock IM setup before I go ahead as I don't think 5 coilpacks will dangle side by side under the strut brace between brake fluid reservoir and ISV piping - I hope I can be proven wrong though.

      Regards,

you could order them from Marc with a bit longer cables and sit them next to the ISV from the passenger side area, so that you wont have any rooom problems.I too have them but with reverse inlet and my car is LHD as well, so it wont help you with a photo!

          Thanks A80Avant,

That may turn out to be the best or only option.

Here's one Mark knocked up for me in his garage, said he's do others for a modest fee... cables are the short length, routed under the throttle body and under the coilpack cover.

                Thanks Ross,

Nice bracket. I guess the standard bracket will fit but needs the longer leads (that can be supplied)?
