In real world terms nothing, 155mm piston compression height is near same as OEM pistons vs 159mm rod ratio is the same as OEM.

Mine are 155.5mm theoretically better revving than 159mm

I've had my car to 7200rpm, of course that's not possible according to your source!

stop talking with that guy thomas. strokers are great. same difficult to map it like 2.2.
if you thinking about a long rod stroker, you are on the good way. go to long rod and stock comp high pistons in aat block.

I have 158mm long and I think that the rod stroke ratio is better than 155!

By the way I revved mine today till 6000 rpm.
          Go Holset or Go RS4

yes. that is correct, but you have to use very bad design pistons.

Aron, i was talking with Javad about this as you said me.

he suggested me 159mm Rods with 82.5 bore pistons and 8.5:1CR for a possible future project up to 600hp....

what do you think about it?? it is better go to look for 9.0:1 CR??

American standard way of doing strokers using the 159mm rods that's how they do them with I think 28.5 compression height on the pistons

There is no wrong or right way only the way you want to do it.

I prefer the 155mm sacrificing rod ratio for a more responsive engine

pistons bore 82.5 is too big IMO, go 82mm so you can still use stock head gasket and have the potential to overbore if something goes wrong

i can say, like jamo. go to 155mm rods. 8,5, or 9 cr, depends what do you want. what turbo, what cams, where to boost, low boost large ignition or high boost smaller ignition or high boost large ign angles.

155mm has more answer, but a little less reliability for a long time or not??

034 sells custom metallic head gaskets for custom bore sizes..but as you say,yes i think like you, always it is better can buy the original one and rebore again the block in a possible future problem

so 81.5 or 82 bore sizes are Ok for use the oem head gasket.... good to know because i did not knew it

surelly i will use Pauter rods with JE pistons ..... any other suggestions with them??bigger wirst pins maybe??

ok 155mm rods,i trust in your strokers experience

                        about compression ratio....

in the first moment i would like to use the engine as everyday car (like Jamo) with some fun days in a tracks or drag races.... but very few times in a year eh¡¡

and about turbo specs.... something like GT30R 0.82AR..... and around 500hp will be fine for sure¡¡ because my 044 Motorsport pump dont gives more

low boost or hight boost....dont know...i would like something reliable, nothing too agressive

Was dynoed to 335kW at the wheels, and rev limiter is set around 7500rpm. As seen on the video, no problem on revving to 7200 like 2.2L engine.

Another stroker owner busting this stupid rev limiter myth

Rev limit problems are associated with the diesel crank in the 220mm block

lets face it theres nothing wrong with either. the way i see the stroker is it has an additional value of being special. by that i mean its a lot more unique and not bought in the car as is.

this obviously has its issues. one being insurance as its an engine swap not an upgrade.

my personal view is that a few more PSI will sort any power differential out. the biggest issue i see is strokers are often compared to audis stock block and not a built 2.2

if you fancy a stroker, go for it.

personally i cannot see the point if you aint going for the next level of hp around the 600-650 mark.
