If you get all the bits cost no more than a good 2.2 build

I've had both a built 2.2 and a built 2.5 as the 2.5 out performed the 2.2 by miles even at 350 bhp

Anyhow each to their own, the less people who have strokers the better IMO
The stroker wont make more hp than the 2.2, its already an under square engine before you start putting longer stroke cranks in it. Look at the dyno challenge that 034motorsports did. Javed said if they do it again they would use a smaller capacity engine. As revs are a part of the equation for hp your first line doesn't stand up.

As for f1 engines it would be interesting to see if they would take up the option of say going to 3 litres with an increase in stroke if there was no rev limit imposed on them as they are now. I suspect they would stay with short stroke and super high revs?

I think Jamo should bite the bullet now and just get a TDI engine put in. Then you will have lots of torque at low revs

its always a compelling one this.

my view is that RPM wins drag races and power comps.

im not for or against either. id like to build a stroker myself, for the challenge. im very much a lets have some time with this one first. id be vastly dissapointed if there wasn't a significant increase in noticable performance though.

id be using the stroker to feed a bigger turbo id expect. if thats a viable option.

If short stroke is so good for drag: Why do they in USA, home of the drag racing , use the biggest engines they can make if not limited?
Why is a 350 so much used(and often stroked to 383 ) when they could have used a short stroked 302 and got so much more HP

        Just my $0.02

i see your point CQ. you need torque to pull those big yank buses.

car weight has lots to do with torque v hp also i feel.

like the tdi joke mentioned. if i was to build a road car now. it would be tdi. cheaper on fuel. instantly pokey.

Wait your saying tdi's are pokey? I respectfully disagree sir, more and more are showing up at the drag strip and putting down faster and faster times. It's not a big deal for a cummins to run in the 11's in an 8500lb truck

at the moment im liking the idea of my bmw 3.0 D with compound charging.

id love a 5.9 dodge ram.

                  sorry a little off topic.
