I might go over to graham goode racing later (depends how I get on with my breather hose replacement) and see what he has in stock. I know he's expensive but I've got a mate that works over there so I'll try and blag a bit of discount.

I've finally got round to wrapping my boost tube in reflective heat shielding. Not sure what the results will be as I've not had a chance to take it out for a good blast. I will test it later when I go out for fuel.

It's not the prettiest installation but it will do to test any effects it has.

I got a sheet of reflective heatshielding about 10 inches wide by about 3 feet long. I used copper wire to wrapped round it to fix it in place along the length of the pipe.

      Martyn,

You can see the new strut brace you made me buy in the first pic.

Ha ha ha, what is that!! Well done please not too rare!

Just kidding, anything that can be done to reduce intake temps is a bonus. No matter what.

          Good work Ben

            Martyn,

I resent that, I do pay for some things . That heat sheilding cost me a whopping £6, admittedly it should have been about £20 .

After the blast to work this morning the heat shielding was too hot to touch but the pipe itself was relatively cool. I don't know what gains it gives but it obviously does reduce the intake temp.

Worth a go if you not bothed about cosmetics!

Been thinking of this theory for a while now, and eventually got round to having a bash! I havn't got VAG com to measure the intake temp so i just relied on the touch and feel method!

I got some Aluminium Tape from Halfords £3.29, and lagged the pipe with it! (TIP, 1 roll is just enough and get someone else to lag the pipe for you!, cos when it looks crap, and i assure you IT WILL! then you'll have someone else to blame!! )

I came out of the house about 40 mins afer it had run and the pipe was hot to the touch. (before the tape was on) Immediatly after a 25 minute thrash, it was look warm! (Tape on) The IC to black pipe hose was also dramatically cooler after a thrashing too!

              RESULT!! especially for £3.29!!!
Money is everything! Second to Power of course!!! But money breeds power??
