Lift of an old thread. Billman, what torque settings have you used for 12.9 main bolts? I expect they should be tighten harder than stock 10.9 bolts. I also heard that you can't tighten the ARP mains to the full torque they recommend, it will bend the main caps. What would be the proper torque for hard 12.9 bolts or ARP's?

I torqued them to specs with the ARP lube. That was what I was quoted was TQ to 65 ft/lbs final torque.
Ok, thats quite much, when stock torque is ~48ft/lbs.
Does anyone know how much is the ARP mains torque(what ARP recommends)?

65ft/lbs, so you use ARP specs for 12.9 bolts... No problem with the main caps? They don't lost their shape?
