Which of these is an OE tappet?

One is from my old 3B engine which was as quiet as a mouse and the other is the brand new one from the stroker, which is not quiet!

I`m guessing that the one on the right is the OE one. The one on the left has the small "oil fill" hole wich I`ve seen in a lot of 8V NA engines. In my opnion the one on the left is far superior and more quiet running. The small hole keeps the oil inside the lifter under heavy use, ie since the hole is smaller it`s more difficult for it to escape when the lifter is pressurised by the lobe. It does however require a thourogh "fill up". I usually let them soak on a bucket of oil for a few days prior to install. Unless you follow this procedure you can get a build up of air inside and they will chatter. The one on the right fills up by itself after install, just lube it and let it rip
Now you see me, now you don`t
