    Oil Pump Problem....?

well like title sad do I have problem with oil pump..?

when I start the cold engine oil pressure is at 5 bar, very soon it drops at 4 and when engine is warm it drops at 1,3 bar.

but before few days I saw that drop at 1 bar at some moment at 0.8 bar..

when drive normal it is around 1-3,5 bar , when drive hard it comes maybe 4 bar..

today I replace the oil pressure sensor on engine block with oder one , and it's the same think - 1 bar.

now in engine are 5w-40 oil ..

before one year I rebuilt the engine and check the oil pump, clean it and it seems ok , no cracks or something...

they are old , and I thing was newer been changed ..

are now become time to change the pump?

    Igor.

If the oil pressure is lost gradually in short period of time, it can be one (or many) of these reasons:

        -pickup pipe filter clogged
        -oil pump worn
        -pickup pipe getting loose
        -oil pressure control valve jammed
        -bearing failure

I would be very worried, if my oil pressure went down day by day. I'd bet it's a bearing, and it'll start to make noise sooner or later.
Everything less than 2 bar is considered to be naturally aspirated

I agree with the others that suggest 5W/nn is too thin. I always run a minimum of 10W40 (winter) and then in the summer 20W50. As for oil changes, unless you are running synthetic, I would say 7000 km is too long. I change mine at 5000 km.

As you know the oil pump is at the front of the engine, behind the timing belt (see Item 20 in this diagram (showing the oil temp sender):

The oil pump itself is a bunch of separate parts as shown in this diagram. The thing to the left of the spring is the oil pressure relief valve.

To change the oil pump you basically have to do a timing belt replacement just to get to the oil pump. I would try at least 10W40 oil and changing it more often for starters.

so the I thing that have to change the oil , it is too old and I didn't allways drive like granny with 70+ years

before I put inside 5-40 I have 10-40 , and the problem was that engine need more time to get idle temerature of 80+degres , with 5-40 it need less time to get hot , with 10-40 in winter I' was freezing in my car..

I already try to change this spring and piston inside the oil pump to other one , but it was the same problem...

I pray to good that problem is in old oil...

and the old oil which I take out from engine was like black water with ugly smell.

                    now all is fine...
