    Original engine

do any one knows how much power the original pistons, piston rods, internals, transmitions and diffs can handle ????

Or should I get forged ones for about 350 hp (not wheels)

Pistons take safely 80hp/cyl. More in practise as is verified by many.

Conrods not more than 350hp/550Nm safely.

    Internals? Crank? Lotsof.

Don't know what burning alcohol changes. Does it burn hotter or cooler?

Much cooler than gas thats why in higher boosts we here in Brazil prefer to use alcohol. But you have to feed 30% MORE to get the accurate ratio.

I see from your signautre that you want to run 2.2 bar.

I'm pretty sure that will bend your rods there are members of this forum who have found this out from experience!

When running with 2,2 bar, I´m planning forged pistons and rods... I`ve checked and the pistons diammeter are the same used in 2.0 vw engines (most popular here in brazil) 1.8 tha we make 1.9.

I already have an engine like this.. all I need is another piston and rod. Big front intercooler, 5 more 160 lbs/hr injectors, a halltech injection a new k24 or k27 I don`t know yet ( these are very cheap here like 260 pounds) 3 inches hoses 5 new external fuel pumps...
and pray for the transmition handle it ...

A frind of mine has a MKIV gti with all forgged titanium rods K27 etc... with 1,4bar 390 hp flywheel 580 NM with booster to 2,2 bar at 615 hp flywheel...

(It still working It blewn a few transmitions already big ones...but engine still working)

Save your money on Halltech system and buy a decent turbo like the GT30R instead. The K27 is old technology, has more lag and less capacity than the Garrett item. Reckon on special exhaust manifold and/or a flange adapter for the Garett turbo.

I've never worked on alcohol fuelled cars (drunk plenty of the stuff mind) - what is the five fuel pump required for. I'm clearly missing something here - or you typed a mistake

1.8bar is as much as you dare (with careful mapping) with the stock bottom end in mid range and I'd say 1.3bar at the redline on a large-ish turbo.

If your budget stretches to motorsport spec rods and pistons then you are in good shape for 2bar and beyond with the capability for ~500bhp - maybe more with nitrous and alcohol - scarey stuff that !

Thanks for the garret turbo tip...
the pumps we have here are not strong enough to carry the quantity of alcohol that the car needs, remenber that we have some difficulties on parts over here. I`ve heard some people using porsche gt2 fuel pumps, but they are very very expensive
do you think that i can manage only with the original injection, or i really need a programable one ??? give me your mail and i´ll send the dynojet graphic from the golf that i told you.
