So my idea about the valves being rusty and "furry", not sealing could be true.
If the valves are straight, you can have a shop replace the guides and seals and clean and lap in the valves to bring them back to 100%.

However, depending on what you know about the engine, there is *some* possibility that the cam timing belt was broken at some point. This would bend valves (typically intake valves), resulting in poor sealing (even if the engine had not been sitting outside for one year). This requires that these valves be replaced (and lap in the others).

Either way, unless the oil in the cylinder brings up the compression (from zero), you are looking at removing the head (again). Sorry.

Here is a list of AAN valve train part numbers. I think this will be the same as the ABY.

And here is the valve guide PN:

I today put some oil in cylinders through spark plug hole. And still 0 BAR so it's valves.
I will take head of and test with fuel in cylinders and valves

Bent valves would make sense, as RS200 says it should be obvious if you remove the cams and leak test them.

Not sure where to buy the bits these days but i remember way back i bought Febi valve guides from vagparts as they were £1.70 each vs £14 each for Audi versions which is absolutely ludicrous money for a bit of brass.
