    CQ --> S2 Immobilizer problem

    Guys,

    We're in the final stages of installing a 1995 ABY into my US Coupe, and today was going to be the day we turn the key...

    We're getting the "Engine start blocked by immobilizer" code, however.

    US cars didn't get the immo, so my Euro ecu isn't getting that input.

    Can someone tell me how to bypass the immo on an S2 ABY ecu? I think this is kind of "secret" only when needed info, as the wiring diagrams on S2central say "private," with no link.

    Thanks,

    Tim

    You need nonimmo chips in your ecu.

      or you can just use an AAN ecu from stateside...i think the consensus is to use either an early ABY ecu without immo, custom chips, or another comparable non-immo ecu (like AAN) to avoid the problem...it has been documented to some extent, likely from Paul, on here IIRC

        Paul,

        Can you confirm that if I put the MTM 1+ chips (from an AAN in North America) that I have into the ABY ecu, that will eliminate the immo?

        It's been hard for me to tell from other posts if it's a separate chip on the board, or the typical boost/fuel chips.

        Thanks,

        Tim

          Yes - as long as it is chips for non-immo which I strongly suspect will be the case
