    smoke, smoke.....

i have big problem about my ABY. Engine use too much oil, and there is white-blue smoke in my exhoust. I had removed piston rings, valve seats, etc...
And now, the situation is even worst then before i did it......
Does anyone has any idea what should i do?

    thanks

Hopefully you did put the piston rings back
Broken turbo, busted oilpipe from the turbo to oilpan, too much oil.
    Start with those.

Check for play in the shaft of the turbo. It should move up and down a little but it should not move in and out.

You just need to remove the pipe on the cold side and get hold of the shaft with you fingers. See how it moves around.

That is obviously with the engine turned off! sorry just joking.

Did you get the block honed or glaze busted before you fitted the new rings? the new rings may not bed in and the oil scraper rings will not clean the bores properly. The petrol washes the oil off the bores, burns it and then blows it up the exhaust.

A failed turbo is still a very strong contender. If it smokes strongly on start up this is usually due to worn guides or a badly placed or hardened valve stem seals.

Pull the downpipe off and look for oil around the exhaust turbin. I had this on a turbo I just had built and it took way more time and money than it should have for me to figure out.

had a new 3" stainless fitted the other day and now when warm i get a haze of white with a hint of blue steamy smoke, smelling very rich took off turbo to i/c pipe - no oil, not loosing water or presurizing, the car has got a didgi tec chip which hasn't been set up yet which might explane why its running rich but to my knowlege oil burning is blue isnt it? i have a spare turbo so was hoping to find oil seals weeping but noooo, any ideas guys?

An oily lambda probe is a also a quick and easy check for a potential turbo related oil-leak

Or check the IC for oil in the bottum. After a long drive with very low boost. If turbo is leaking the oil will collect here.

there are some more details about my problem: i went to short holideys, about 500km trip. my father, who drove right behind me on highway said that my car smoke is white, and thar there is no rules, when it comes out of exhoust. i found out, that there is a lot of smoke, when i drive in high gear at lov rpm (about 2000) up to the hill.
could i have fuel mixture too rich ? should i clean breather hoses system? any ideas?
and btw: my car doesnt use any wather......

sorry for my ignornce but i dont understand what means to honed or glazed block, we only clean (polishing) and measure the block and pistons and it seems ok. when i start my car there is no smoke, and if i let hot car idle about 2 minuts and then put the gas to metal there isnt any smoke too.....

Did you skim the head straight?

Did you measure the piston ring gaps?

Honing is the finishing of a metal part by rubbing abrasive grind stones on it. here is a picture of a block after it has been honed.
