it all depends on your setup and where you live. Also you need to see what the outside temperature is.

for me, with a larger intercooler and reverse inlet manifold, also HKS filter well insulated from the heat of the turbo, i get around the same temp as ambient when i drive a bit off traffic, and when in traffic, i get anything from 5 to 15 deg more than ambient when in traffic. On motorway i usually get less than ambient.

Here in the UK where temps are at about 15C, you get the idea. Around 15C-18C most of the times, and then more in traffic, less in motorway. Having said that, as the sensor is not very accurate and jumps at 5C intervals, once i fit the 1.8T sensor, i would be able to report more accurate readings from VEMS, as it will be doing 2C interval measurements.

22C is not a bad temperature at all, unless it was 0C outside!

I'd expect IAT to be moving around - whatever the weather. On normal days here I would see ~15c on startup, but after some hot runs and heat soak its easy to see it well over 30c and I have seen over 40c on rolling roads.

        thanks for answers!
i have s2 upgraded to rs2 spec and chip (about 370hp).
i guess then 22c is ok if outside temperature is 16c, as it was when i meassured mine !

Not with vagcom but with a multimeter probe at the airbox intake trumpet I've measured temps going up over 60 dec C when sitting at traffic lights .. this was on a 40 Deg C day though

Yeah, when you are sitting still the temps will always go higher. Especially if you don't have the stock CAI anymore.
But once you boost, they instantly go down, close to ambient, and then in the higher revs with more boost start to rise again.
