    Maximum Engine Speed Exceeded

    Hello guys.
How it´s possible if I changed the rpm sensor and the position sensor?

Normally ECU cut of around 7.5k but sometimes cut some times and pass.
And yesterday not cut and engine goes around 8k

    Motronic ECU?
Motronic cuts fuel at 7100 on AAN and 7300 on ADU (it will overshoot slightly, so it looks as if it is 7200 and 7400).
7500 sounds like too much for stock ECU... never mind 8000.

Shouldn't be going anywhere near that - limiter not changed.

Might be a really stupid question, but how do you reach 7500 rpm?
Just by pressing the gas pedal, right? Not by downshifting?

            Sorry, just making sure

              FULL GAS in Neutral.

Some time ago, driving heavily 3 times the car don´t cut when I make full throttle in 1º gear (and 2º and...)
Well, I saw that and prove making it on Neutral and the result was the same: engine runs around 8k rpms and a big "PAH!"

Because that one month ago I changed the rpm sensor and the other sensor ("cigüeñal")
And afters proves go alright. Good and heavy fast cuts and in 1º gear and 2º and... cut perfect.

But SOMETIMES the ECU become crazy and don´t cut when it must be.

Thanks and excuse me for my bad english

I am 99% sure the problem is not ECU, but some sensor.

Just something to add, my car did this too. Aan with special map from Paul. Most times the car would stop pulling at 7.4k in 3rd gear that's about 103mph. But sometimes it would keep pulling up to 8k, and still no limiter. Had saw 110mph in 3rd a few times.

As I didn't have a habit or bouncing of the limiter I didn't see it as an issue. Now I'm on vems I get set soft cut at 7.3k hard at 7.6k

"Como no tenía costumbre de apurar el cuentavueltas, no lo vi como una preocupación (el que no cortara a veces). Ahora que llevo VEMS, tengo el corte suave (diría que de inyección) a 7300 y el fuerte (diría que de encendido) a 7600.

                          Un saludo, cheers .

I see mine go past the 7300 limit on occasion, so it can happen, especially in 2nd gear.
However, most of the time, it seems to cut right at the standard limiter of 7300rpm.
Did some 3rd gear logs the other night, hitting the limiter, and the highest rpm recorded on the Vagcom was 7280rpm on repeated runs.
The accelerometer log said peak rpm was 7306 rpm (it doesn't read rpm, but calculates it based on speed and the rolling circumference of the tires), so that agrees well with the Vagcom.

                              Who sensor may be?

I´m bored and tired for change sensors and always the Vagcom say the same things:

Sometimes Hall sensor but always mixture and lambda error
