    Rocker Cover Gasket

My car has started to leak from the back of the rocker cover (the part that says 20v Turbo) and I was wondering if it is quite an easy job that could be handled by myself or would it be a specialist job.
I have recently changed one on my wifes Golf and it was no trouble at all but I know the S2 is a lot harder to tackle as there is a lot to take off and put back on the car to change the gasket.

Could someone let me know if this can be tackled by myself?
Also I have been quoted £28.00 for the gasket is this about right or could I get it cheaper somewhere else.

    Thanks in advance.

going to attempt this this weekend, thats well cheap on the gasket price.

Takes about 3 hours according to the guides to do it on http://www.s2-audi.co.uk/tech_articl...ver_gasket.htm and http://www.vagparts.com/s2/D3/rad3.htm page 3

If you do a seach for RC gasket theres a thread about it on the forum.

Dont forget to remove the bolts which the coil cover bolts onto, also i had to remove the throttle damper to get the coil cover to lift enough. Where abouts in Co. Durham are you, i am just down the road in Mioddlesbrough

I am the chap that lives in Witton Gilbert and I was meant to go to the North East meet but I couldn't make it.
I meet up with Jason (fourrings) quite a lot and he introduced me to the forum.

If you confident then do it yourself. I paid about £30 for the gasket from VAGParts.
Took me about 45 mins to do mine.

It's amazing how fast you can work when you have no garage and a thunderstorm is rolling in . Mind you I did have a horrible feeling that I'd missed something really important - but 12 months down the line and no probs at all.

Volksparts get my vote everytime, used them for nearly 6 years now. Trevor and the lads know what they are doing with the S2, maybe give Trev a call Mak, doesn't look like you are going to be able to do it this week, as it's not bloody stopped peeing it down for days
Oh, and Trev sorted my MOT last week to, passed without even an advisory, though the Mot tester next door did have the car for nearly an hour, I swear that little garage is Doctor Who's tardis in disguise, as a load of guys appeared from nowhere and all started pouring over the car
Give me a shout if you need a hand Mak.
