    Valeo Radiator?

Anyone ever used a Valeo Rad as an alternative to the Behr or the POS Nissens?

Similar prices to the Behr & Nissens

    £77.35 + VAT for the non-aux rad model (377 x 480 x 40mm core)
    £141.78 + VAT for the aux rad model (380 x 480 x 40mm core)

    Any comments?

    Cheers

The heater matrix is a Valeo item, so they are an OEM at least. Based on that alone, I would expect the quality of the main rad to be good.

Never fitted one, so I can't vouch for them though.

As above, Valeo make a lot of OEM stuff so I'd hope that quality was OE.

Good stuff Rob, if they're an OEM well I might give this a go. - since I have deleted my aux rad and the core is the same size, the non-aux option is agood option price wise me thinks.

No need to get an aux. rad. for the British climate, I think you're referring to getting a 7A version without the front pipe, correct?

Nope the 7A had the aux rad too, this is the rad for the NM engined coupe quattro I believe.

think thats maybe off a 10v car, all the 7As i've seen have had the aux rad.. in the UK anyway

I've just ordered one of these non aux rad Valeo rads for £100.00 delivered so we'll see how it goes

Agree with Alex, 7A's also had aux radiators.

Keep us posted on the Valeo Rad Alex

I am pretty sure that when I renewed my radiator (many years ago) it was a Valeo item and it has served well since then.

Be careful it's not just the size of the core ,its the fins and the size of the gaps in between them , my s2 rad has much larger spaced fines than the other non turbo rad I have lying round.

Fair enough. Non Aux rad style is much neater, need the lower hose to go with it too, then it's all neat and tidy.
