    B7 RS4 engine conversion

Hi guys does anyone know of a successful transplant of the B7 RS4 4.2 Fsi engine into any other car using the original motronic ECU?

If so can you point me in the direction of such project? The only ones I have heard about they have converted to VEMS or Motec or used throttle bodies.

I have heard that the variable valve timing will not work unless it can talk to the other ecu's ie traction control and steering direction? Is this true.

    Many thanks
    Brian

It was only hearsay dude! I don't seem to be able to find anyone on the planet that has even attempted it let alone finished it. I have now asked the same question on 10 audi forums and searched many many more. I won't give up mate

I guess ultimately if you can't block the code in the ECU's to run properly without the peripheral inputs, then an option would be to emulate 'good' inputs. Which would bring about it's own issues... not that they couldn't be overcome. But it would be huge more hassle than code changes.

I'm in the same position, however I was down at MRC a couple of weeks ago and while it hadn't been done (to the best of their knowledge), it wasn't reckoned to be impossible.

Although I was told those ECU's can be completely over written as they are just Bosch ms4(ISTR) ecus with Audi's software, so It may be a case of just finding someone with the know how to do it

The deal is no longer able to be done now on this engine...

However another V8 may be available not as powerful but a 40v non the less....

For RAYMOR, here you go... this may save you some time when it comes to yours. I have made a spreadsheet that I have been doing of the last couple of nights with all the pinouts for both plugs on both ecu's. It will make wiring a little easier to follow. send me your email address and I will forward them to you. I would have attached them on here for all but it wont let me.

Strange as xls file is a recognised file type. Okay, try zipping the . xls file and attaching that.
