Yep, thats the one for the ABY airbox. Daft K&N website had me baffled for a while with that part number, but thanks to Sal I tried it and it fit perfect. See my thread here

Yep, that's the one for ABY.... it's more square and less rectangular than the one for 3B. I had a struggle with the same company a few months back when I bought one for my ABY. They advertised it as though it would fit ABY but sent one for 3B!!!! Even K&N website was very unclear at the time (don't know whether they have updated it yet??) with little distinction between 3B / ABY / RS2.
I eventually solved the confusion for them and the correct one arrived!!!

Not sure mate, I bought the car with a K&N already fitted, but that was split along one edge leaving the filter to hang down inside the airbox, so I just replaced it with another one. I've been in an S2 with the standard filter fitted and though I couldn't notice any performance difference I did notice more of an induction noise on mine and I can hear the DV dumping the air back into the airbox on closed throttle alot more than standard.

Irvin: You won't see any effect :/. Strange thing but I'v asked most of guys who fitted open cone filters and none have fell any effect apart from strange sound on throttle release. Like arghhhhhh. Fun stuff.

Have to disagree on that one Sweeper :mischeif: . I fitted an ITG maxogen on mine last weekend and there is a definate difference in performance. Bizarrely it feels slower of the mark now but pulls a lot better midrange and top end. Much more eager to go and doesn't feel as out of puff as it did.

Plus it makes all the strange sounds when the boost builds and when you lift off

Ben: What type / size / maybe picture ? As I have Green Filter , and I believe it's quite small. When I built up a boost my friends say that the bonnet suck in a little.

ITG is unknown brand around here, sometimes I feels like going open a credit card(very hard to get one around here) and go buy some UK stuff .

This is a K&N panel, and it does seem to have breathed a small amonut of life into the car, but that could just be my imagination.. My head is a scary place to be..

The wee noise on throttle release is quite strange, like a rattle or something. I actually thought something else was on the way out till I read Sweeper's post, so thankyou!

(Please don't tell me that if it's a rattle it is actually something else about to explode, my pockets are now in fact empty!)

Irvin: The noise is ok , if you had open cone type it would be louder(like mine for example). No worry . Just keep checking maf and cleaning it from oil sometimes.

I think I paid about £40 (that's 4000 UK pennies ) for it. I wanted to fit towards the headlight like the Dahlback one but it is too big. They do a smaller one that would probably fit but is only rated to 310Bhp.

I looked at the Jap stuff like HKS/Blitz etc as they do tiny filters that are rated to massive HP figures. The problem is they don't filter out much of the dust and dirt so I steered clear of them.
