Carbon canister line question/fuel line questions.

    Hi guys.

Most of you know I am converting a 7a coupe quattro to aby spec. I have an issuse which involves the carbon canister line. Actually the fuel lines in the current 7a position is just barely work, and I had to shorten them and reflange them. Basically the bracket for the ignition coils, speed sensor etc is right above the lines. I am thinking I want to cut out the carbon canister line which goes all the way from the passenger side of the coupe to the driver side near the coolant tank.

    So the question is:

As long as I source the correct silicone or rubber hose I shouldn't have to worry that there is this non metal hose running the length of the engine bay?

A trip to the hydraulic shop should solve my problem. The other possibility is to move the carbon canister to the aby/rs2 or passenger side of the coupe but I am thinking a long rubber or silicone line should be fine?

    Opinions?

Also. Since the 7a fuels lines are so troublesome to me, If I were to ditch the metal lines could I install aeiroquip*sp ( i can't spell for ****e) lines all the way from the fuel pump? I can deal with the 7a lines for now, but later down the road I want to make more room in the back of the engine bay.

    Thanks
    Josh

I ended up using rubber fuel lines. I really don't want to smell the gas.. I have heard of guys not using them and venting them into the fender but the odors increase alot.

It's not wise to block off the fuel line to the carbon canister it's best to put a small filter on there in my opinion.

        Cheers

NO idea.. but I doubt it's necessary it just holds vapors in one place till wot where it's all released.
