    Auxilury water pump

Fitted a new auxilury water pump today as the old one had split on the casing and was leaking coolant. Got it from.....anyone? yep, good old Vagparts. These guys have started a new concept in the auto parts trade, you order a part, pay for it and the right part arrives first time, brilliant Wish other suppliers took on this novel aproach
Anyway back to the problem before Martyn and the gang start there own appreciation society. Now that its fitted, how do i tell if its working when should it come on and how do i tell it is? It has cured the leak but would like to know it is functioning as it should be, any suggestions or BTDT.

Auxiliary - I love correcting you guys

When you turn the ignition on, the pump should run briefly. You can hear it if the ambient noise is low.
