Some nasty bint made me an offer just outside Asda in Lower Earley, can't say for the quality as i turned her down but it was damn cheap

Can't help really but I'm sure Aelred would know, or could do it, if you'll travel half an hour. Prob worth a try. I had 034 oversize valves and a bunch of lightweight bits fitted to rev to 8k on my old engine, cost all about £800 in parts and machining for the headwork, shame it only lasted 200 miles!!

Coz it was build by a complete muppet; see "David in Dublin"s sig and you can apply it to me, though i was lucky enough to get most of the parts back.

A bigend bearing melted, by the time the rattle became noticeable (car was very loud and the engine vibration was harsh) the damage was done - pullin over to the hard shoulder the rod bigend gave out, it snapped in half against the bottom of the bore and punched a hole in the block.

Sold the head and turbo on cheap and quickly, used the cash and lots of help from forum members to get parts to fit a new engine and put the car back on the road, and now selling it on as I've jsut bought an RS2.

I would have thought so. I was under the impression that the 16v Golf head was an S2 head with a cylinder lopped off?
