I want to fit the stock air box back into the car. The guy gave me the box but I think there's something missing?
The mount for the maf... the maf has two plastic slot bits on either side and the box has two bolts. Should there be a bracket for this or am I missing something obvious?
A larger rubber O ring seals the MAF to the box, have you got that too?
There are 2 threaded holes on the MAF exit. The tabs on the MAF aren't used in quite the way you're thinking of, they sit tangentially to the two small bolts (touching the bolt threads) that go into the upper section of the airbox. The washers sit on the tabs - if you look on the MAF there will be some witness marks...

Just to confirm what Rusty said - I fitted a stock RS2 airbox in place of a dahlback induction kit last week:
You'll need a rubber O-ring that seals between the MAF and the airbox; it's a very tight fit and the best way I found was to use a little WD40 on the O-ring and the MAF, otherwise it won't want to slide in. Then there's two short allen key bolts with large washers that overlap the tabs on the MAF and hold it in.
There's also two rubber inserts on the chassis, and corresponding plastic bits on the airbox that insert in. Again, bit of WD40 might help; i didn't and one of the rubber gromets got pushed inside the wing
