  • 034 Thermostat - 80 or 71 degrees - No Aux Rad

    http://www.034motorsport.com/engine-...6-p-21200.html

Is this lower opening temperature thermostat of any use if one was to take out the auxiliary radiator on an ABY Avant and wanted the thermostat to operate a bit more and thus make the fan on the main radiator work a bit less?

    Any comments either way?

    Thanks.

I will not use the 70 one... at long trips on highway..the temp will be too low, increase fuel consumtion, oil not getting at the right temp..etc.
I will use one closer to 90. Just a thought!

The Quinton Hazel range of thermostats include a number the correct size to fit the 5 cylinder engine over a range of different temperatures and they're much cheaper than this 034 one.

I use the 88 degree one. I don't see why you'd want to use one below 82 degrees. If you've got a cooling problem a lower temperature thermostat won't solve it.
