Did MRC have any comments on the turbo? i have been talking to Turbo Dynamics this week about turbo's and how i can make mine less aggressive.... must be getting old....
I wasn't able to attend myself but the guy that took my car said that they had no issues. I think that with the engine spec I have that I could run a much bigger turbo but there is always that trade off between lag and power and I think that this is a good medium. the turbo is very agressive and builds boost very quickly. I bought 3 of them and have another one in my RS2 and the spool up is much quicker than the RS2 turbo but yet it yielded 50 more bhp on an otherwise std engine.

Don't change it! Get a boost controler fitted so that you can turn it down!!!

You're right about the bigger turbo but having looked at other graphs for other tuned cars that I have I honestly don't think it tails of significantly differently to any other non stroked engine.

I honestly think the 6 speeder would suit his car better. I have one on my ur and it suits it perfectly.

They are incredibly aggressive, i think people understandably, think i have been exaggerating the aggressiveness, possibly yourself to when you first installed it in your RS2. But with the right set up and the lightness of a ur it is simply mad..

I wont be changing it cuz like you i truly believe for a road car there is no better compromise, but will play with a boost controller and may even buy the anti-surge housing and give that a go to see how it effects things.

I would guess both cars will be very similar, as you say the turbo is what is holding yours back to probably perform like mine, though i would think you have even more torque with the 2.5 set up.

It would be interesting to put my G-tech in yours and over lay the graphs, we will have to meet up.

            Take care,

            Darren.

Thanks, wouldn't mind seeing that. You always wonder what your own car looks and sound like... i'm only running 1.8 bar at the moment say 430 ish..

                  Yes mate, you're completely right.

I have a sierra cosworth with 485 bhp and I use a boost controller to turn it down when it's wet as you simply can't use the power.

The torque is superb. A full 500lbs pretty much as soon as the turbo spools up.

Saw the pics of yours and it looks lovely. That rebuild was painstaking.

The quattros with turbos at full chat and on track sound superb on circuit from the spectators point of view. There's a couple of vids on youtube that someone took of mine (with the 10v) at Audi International a couple of years ago and it looked and sounded awesome.

Did you ever have yours power tested to see the exact power?

                  Defo meet up mate!

No i used the G-Tech to get a guide (neighbour has a weigh bridge), i have also used the revs x torque / 5252 method and both come out pretty much the same and yours at 2 bar pretty much confirms my thoughts.

I'm truthfully not that intrested in what a dyno shows as they can be so manipulated (MRC's is a good guide as so many other high power cars have used the same dyno giving you a good guide against others) to me its about how it feels and performs....
