That brown wire is the earth path for the coil packs. A bad connection there can cause misfires, hesitation and all sorts of grief...
I changed that wire for a new one last night. I am still only getting 21 psi........Would a faulty MAF or wastegate diaphragm have any input to this These are the only 2 items that have not been renewed......
Its weird, i swear there is a tiny, tiny flat spot at 4k....
Stock RS2 max boost is about 1.2 - 1.3 bar - best achieved from low revs in 4th and above. Max boost is about 3500-4000 from memory. Multiply bar by 14.5 for psi.
Chipped RS2 runs to max about 1.6bar and with careful custom mapping you can go even higher - and actually into 2bar if the engine internals are strengthened.

hi. I was reading your post. I instaled recently a VDO on my rs2 too... reads sometimes even -0,9bar when engine braking, but when pushing hard foot down I alrey saw 1.6bar...
As far I know my rs2 is not chiped... or is it?... I even always thought that it was a bit lazy... maybe I am used to the push... ;-)
realy, I got the rs2 with 79.000km and as far I know the last owner dind chip it, but cant say it for sure after reading your post.
