AAN oil question

I am wiring the motor into the 944 and just now noticed that most of the pictures I have that show where all of the sensors are located indicate that there are three that deal with the oil system. My engine however only seems to have two. One on the lower front of the motor (for oil temp I believe). The other is on the drivers side of the motor (I think it is the pressure switch). I don't appear to have a pressure sending unit. Ideas? I can post some pics if need be. The motor is from an 1995 S6.

There should be a pressure sensor screwed in to the side of the block. There is a temp sensor there too and the pressure sensor is the larger of the two. Passenger side, halfway up the block near the front.

That's what I saw in the pictures, but I don't have one.


In this pic of the passenger side of the engine you can see what I believe is the oil temp sender next to the harmonic balancer.


In this pic of the drivers side of the engine you can see what I think is the oil pressure switch and below it is a plug. The location of the plug looks like where a pressure sender should be, but this was a stock motor and it didn't have any unused wiring in this area. WTH?

The American delivery UrS6s did NOT come with an oil pressure gauge (like the 92-94 UrS4s did). As a result, your donor engine does not have the big dual sender (but you should be able to retrofit one if you need the gauge). Here is what the location looks like on an UrS4 AAN:

The oil temp sender is, as you have discovered, in the oil pump housing, as shown here (item 6 - AAN)
