    Question for RS2 owers (fuel)

Ok, here's one for the RS2 owners out there.
How many liters of fuel holds your car?

The reason i ask this: I'm lucky to have 2 RS2's on the driveway. The blue RS2 holds a MAXIMUM of 40 liters of fuel. The Black RS2 holds somewhat short of 55 liters.

The RS2 folder states that it has a "tankinhalt" of 64 liters.... So no where near that amount in my cars.

What are other RS2 owners experiences?

mine reads 64 on the digital dash when full and it corresponds to the amount of fuel i put in when i refuel it. ie if i put 50liters digital shows about 12-16 left

The fuelgauge on an RS2 is always too pessimistic I've noticed.

Once I've done 58l in it, but according to the needle I should already have been on the side of the road without petrol

I always thought it was 60l I have ran mine low once or twice in the last 8 years and never put more than 55l in it

I have to say that I'm not talking bout the board computer nor fuel gauge but actual liters at the pump.

How do you know your tank is empty when you refuel? you are using the boardcomputer/gauge? I think what we are saying is that you may think your car is pretty empty but infact your gauge/computer is not accurate. Your blue rs2 may have 25litres still in the tank when your gauge reads empty. But your black one only 10litres.
            Maybe?? Just a thought.

I see your point. But I'm the kinda guy that runs the tank empty. Untill it stops... to find out how much is in that tank.

try it and let us know.

usually when the lamp flashes on my computer/dash if i fill it up i have about 8-12liters still in. At that point i usually fill with anything between 48-55l roughly. so that makes it about 60-63 as it should be.

sometimes air may be trapped to the tank as well or air may be going in when you are filling up

Perhaps I havent made myself clear. This is regarding the blue RS2.
I drive that car now for 3,5 years

When I fill it up it holds approx 40 liters.
The needle hits rock bottom at 200 km's. I then know I can still drive 75 km at least, and when I do 25 km's more I will be at the side of the road without fuel. BTDT many times.... In 3 years time, this is the rule, no exceptions there. So perhaps could it be that my tank has a huge airpocket....

I can fill upto 59 liters when driven as long as possible. But then I cant stand the fuellight bingo any longer and I refill

I have ran mine empty, but have not filled to the brim afterwards (don't want to haul all that dead weight...).
When I have filled it up to the max, it has taken a maximum of approx. 52L, probably around 5L left in the tank, so it seems that mine takes less than 60L.

Just carry 4L in a spare can, then run it dry, fill it from the spare can, go to the gas station, fill it up and add the numbers.

Running your tank dry (or even beyond the fuel level warning symbol ON) will hasten the death of your fuel pump because the fuel pump is immersed in and cooled by the gasoline/fuel. Running the pump dry will heat the pump up and hasten its death.

Some C4 UrS fuel pump info (including a link to relaying the fuel pump to the battery) that might be of some interest.

That is true about not letting fuel run too low.
