    searching for a boost leak

When I got the car there was a vacuum hose fitted on my wastegate, which had to be on the dumbvalve(there was none). I bought a boost gauge to see what pressure it did. At that moment it started with 0,5 bar and went to 0,8-0,9. But the car was really driving terrible in high revs. After I saw that the hose wasnt fitted right I placed it on the DV. The boost gauge showed 0,65 bar. Last week I decided to try to repair the car myself. I replaced all the v-belts, cambelt, tension role, waterpump. I also changed the dumbvalve, WGFV and all the vacuum hose which run into the engine. The boost is still the same, 0,65 bar. Anybody any idea what can cause the leak. I really dont understand why I had 0,8 - 0,9 bar of boost when the vacuum hose was fitted on the WG and 0,6 now it is fitted on the DV. Is it possible that it has somehing to do with WG?

    Thanks again,

    Erik de Bruijn

    Check the fault codes.

Hose in the upper wg part should force you maximum boost that the turbo can produce, say 1,6 bar and over boost protection should come on.

Pressure test the whole system. Replace the maf with a plug equipped with tyre valve and then just pressurise. You hear it clearly if it has a leak.

I checked the fault codes, but there arent any besides the one that the engine was not running.

Could it be that the spring in the WG spring is to soft or the diapgrahm is broking, I just dont understand why I had the right pressure when the small vacuum hose was equipped to the connection on top of the wastegate

      kind regards,

      Erik
