    Desperate wiring help

Im trying to repair the wiring to the multi function temp thing, as the connector 'dropped' off when i went to re fit it I have the 4 wires, but dont know which pins they go to. I cant find any info at work, can anyone help??

And yes it is the early type with 4 wires and not 3 as used on later cars

    Thanks

I'll take a look at my "mannequin" 3B when I go home. I'll be able to tell you something in a couple of hours.

      OK

holding the connector so that you watch it from front (part to be inserted in the plug), therefore entering of the wires at the back, and with the slotted part facing down:

      Top left: BLUE/WHITE
      Top right: BROWN/BLU
      Bottom left: BLU/YELLOW
      Bottom right: BLACK/BLU

That's how my wiring harness is.

Terminal numbers? 1-4? Which are you calling no. 1?

Can you get the switch out? IIRC the pins have id letters/numbers next to them or it's shown on the switch body. My wiring diagrams list the colours and the pins they go to by designation. No use unless you know which pin is which.

Sorry Tom, I'm now at work again so I cannot look at the connector.
Anyway here is a quick drawing.
If needed I can try to figure out numbers and wires on the plug tomorrow morning.

PS: the drawing shows the connector from front, not the plug on the water manifold.

Nice one Marco!!! That should help me out. Bloody old cars The switch used to leak and it corroded the wires away, wondered why the temp gauge stopped working!
