    URGENT¡ Motronic Masters

    dear Motronic masters

do you know if the ecu receive COLD intake temps like whem we are driving with 0ºC ambient air temp works injecting less fuel in the mixture??

because normally i am having on WOT about 11.3 to 12 AFR numbers... and now today driving with the car at -2ºC the AFR numbers were 12.8/ 13.7 .... this is very dangerous true? what happend?? my ecu is it not ready and tuned to drive with that cold ambient temps??

does someone had similar issues like this??

thanks friends, i am worried for this

Can't help you with the trouble, but seems that we have -26 degrees this morning. Havn't fired up the urs4 for a couple of days for some reason.

I use stock motronic with custom tuning and have no problems with the mixture in cold -10 - -20 temps. Can't tell any difference to warmer temps...

      Normal behaviour...
Motronic has a RPM:IAT compensation table for fuel.

I would not say 12.8 AFR is dangerous in -2C... however, it really depends on the setup.

"glad" to read it , but understand me i am worried for it

this mourning at -6ºC i pulled my car in 3rd gear and i was seeing 13.5AFR 12.8 AFR could be fine as you said but 13.5AFR??

many thanks for the info friends

As long as it's not knocking, it's fine.
13.5 does seem a bit lean though...

Calibration is not needed with all decent controllers. Plus, free-air calibration does not affect readings below 1.

                      What experience do you need?

It's VERY simple. 3D map, IAT and RPM.
I have no idea how your car is mapped. Perhaps it was mapped in very hot weather and then the mixture gets a lot leaner in cold weather... maybe the mapper did not know how to map properly...

Maybe your chips are crappy... maybe something is broken.

                      Many possibilities.

                        yes i understand you

all the things you said could be perfectly.

now i am using the 375cv & 627nm software ... for tomorrow i will try with the 391cv & 644nm chips and hope to see something different.

i would like to see if other members had the same experience .... but it is difficult because we need a wideband installed with a gauge for it...and not too many people has one ,and without it,we cant know anything

for the moment i did not noticed knocking (i think ) because the engine continue boosting like always ,but with leaner AFR with WOT, because cruising and iddleing the AFR values are like always very near to 14.7AFR

                        thanks Dmitri¡

I recommend to stop buying random chips and playing lottery with your engine.
                          Get your car mapped...

On cruise and idle of course it is around 14.7, since lambda is on. Unplug lambda and see how it is then...

i was using these chips since more than 3 years ago without problems ... and in the dyno they said me that they has very very good Lambda values

both software versions, but the 375cv chips came from a friend who bought a Motronic ecu for 3B cars and RS2 specs in Germany with a 300kpa sensor inside too....
and i am only testing his ecu because it is not mine

anyway the time is gone for this 3B chips, because i will try to make the Pin Swap for use AAN ECU with RS4 V8 coils

i will try unpluging the lambda too for see what happen

OK the problem was solved yesterday night, thanks to re install again my 391cv & 644nm ECU.

my friend´s ECU seems to be working well the 500kms i did with her... under not very cold wheater it was mixing well ¡¡ but with colder temps works worse, because it starts to doing worse AFR values with the first boost ( 13.5 ) and after around 1 sec or 2 it goes better reaching the 11.3/ 11.8 AFR with 2.0bar....

and in the other side, my 3 years old 391cv ECU works PERFECT showing very good AFR values in every boost state.

and after all... i am more happy with more than 600nm in back since 3750rpm to 4750 rpm

thanks for all my forum friends
