Some one posted a direct comparison on a 35r on Hamish'es thread
Looks like gains in spool to me.
But would this not cause more surge, which i allready get

Yeah seems the GT35 suffers from surge that's one of the reasons I sold mine on.Some one posted a direct comparison on a 35r on Hamish'es thread

gtx garrett is GARBAGE!
The new BW is sick though and the new precisions are awesome and going to be getting even awesomer in the next year. Should even top the new Borgs. I got to talk to the head engineers for Borg and Precision last weekend

Again, I have no personal info on these offerings but I do have some knowledge on the Comp Turbo billet compressors. I had an ITS dual ceramic ball bearing turbo on Da Monstah for the last several years. That turbo was having seal issues which was the cause of the demise of ITS so I sent it off to Comp Turbo which kind of took over the proprietary rights to the ceramic ball bearing technology and further refined it. They took my turbo and rebuilt it using their new design center bearing section and seals. Their designation for my turbo is CT43-6768 and this turbo in my 2.5 stroker put down 755hp at the wheels.gtx garrett is GARBAGE!
I'd like to know what quantitative data you have to support this claim??? From what I've heard, the GTX turbos are very robust. No data on my end, just what I've heard.

I recently had the head off and decided to send the turbo back to them to have the billet compressor wheel installed. Since the new compressor wheel is slightly larger the CT boys had to machine the compressor housing a bit. The new designation for the turbo is CT43-6768RB. The RB is for race billet. I've had the car back on the road for several weeks now and have had the time to evaluate the differences. I did have to battle some higher boost run issues which turned out to be plugs. The boost threshold has been reduced such that I can feel it on the butt dyno.
Earlier this year I went through a set of upgrades on my 1.8 tqm A4 that sports a billet compressor K-16 based turbo from Sportec. On that car I upgraded to an Apikol intake manifold with a VR6 throttle body and also installed a set of Cat cams. I had dynoed this car earlier and when I dynoed the car this time the whole torque curve was moved to the left by 300 rpm. The reason I bring this up is that though the scale is much higher with Da Monstah, the difference that I feel in da butt is almost exactly the same.
I will be taking this car to the dyno sometime after the new year but for now, the butt says this has been a worthwhile change. I hope this might be helpful for someone out there.
