Help Required! Starting new S2 project!

I'm looking to begin upgrading my S2 3b. It is totally standard apart fro ma powerflow exhaust.

Was looking for a bit of advice as to the first steps I should take. I'm going to upgrade the brakes and suspension as a matter of course, but would appreciate a bit of advice.

A few people have said that i should go for an intercooler and i have been looking at this one:

anyone got this or know if it is any good?

Any other advice re. first steps would be appreciated.

    cheers

The Wagner stuff isn't the cheapest, but I've never heard any complaints about it - quite the contrary.

If you're gonna go down that route, be aware that they do two variants - one for a stock IM and one for their aftermarket IM (http://www.wagner-tuning.de/EN/products/llks2.php). If you're gonna be wanting the IM later, might be an idea to do both at once.

IMHO brake upgrade, replace all bushes, upgrade rear arb, replace shock inserts then look at engine upgrades.

Car is in good nick, only two owners before me. Has just turned 100k and has full audi service history (17 stamps). I'm not looking for the car to be 400bhp or anything like that, just would like to subtly upgrade it to about 270-280.

So your question is who can tune the 3b ecu to get you 270-280 ponies. I don't even know if it's possible as most of the popular chips seem to be done for the ABY Motronic combination. I'd drop Paul "s2central.net" a pm. You shouldn't need much extra hardware to get to the specs you're thinking about.

http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=38323 Actually do a quick search there for 3b chip, loads of others have done it by the looks of it. Chipped ecu's come up for sale from time to time.

It sometimes takes a bit of digging to find out what's applicable anyway; ths sticky thread is dedicated to ABY chips but you'll get the idea:

My old 3B coupe was a cracking car, when it was subtley modded. 996 front brakes should come before upping the power really and if you're not looking to stiffen it up then at least sort the RARB; made a huge difference on mine.

Paul can do a generic remap for the 3B that'll take it up to 270-280bhp; decat the exhuast on the 3B as well to get the most out of it.

With a 3" exhuast, RS2 intercooler and a cone filter with cold-air feeds, 7A exhaust cam and MRC custom map I was seeing ~300hp.

So, if i'm reading right, seems like 280bhp ish is not impossible with ecu upgrade? Have had a look at MRC; they are looking for about a grand to get it up to that - I'm assuming that you would have to get them to fit the milltek exhaust to reach 280bhp? Guessing that meddling with intercooler etc. would only be required for higher bhp?
