    Engine bay jobs list

I'm going so start stripping the engine bay out but not removing the engine.

My plan so far is to strip it back, all hoses out, rads out, polish im and rocker cover and.basically through the bay change the steering rack boot then refit with new hoses etc

On my journey through the jungle of the aby engine, what other jobs would you suggest? (nothing too expensive!)

    Cheers

I would suggest you remove the engine as accessing things like the steering rack would be a million times easier!

I dont think hes planing on changing the whole rack, just the boot which is not to bad a job once you have moved all the other bits out the way.

I could save you a lot of time to have the camcover and IM bead blasted first, that will clean them up nicely and will make the polishing much easier..

buy some POR15 Marina Clean to make reasonably light work of removing all that baked on PAS fluid

I agree though, once you have all the ancilliaries out of the way you'll have done all the hard work, you may as well whip the engine out and check the clutch, clean the sump out and inspect the bearings etc
