That was the worst place on mine, I had hoped to just stop at the bottom (Had been told not to and to do it proplerly by Steve, father etc), when I was removing the bottom lines the ones up the firewall just disintegrated.

And you can replace them the whole way just pulling of the heat shielding (at least when refitting 2), its just a complete bitch and involves a huge amount of swearing and sore hands. I did the bit through around the rack with my dad so there were two sets of hands to push, pull and form the lines through.

Oh believe me they do not follow the beautiful, curving lines yours do, however they do a nice job of getting petrol from the tank into the engine

As you say really an engine out job to be perfect.

just out of interest, how did you connect the new lines to the old lines as mine are starting to go underneath just before the firewall.

Yep, David is right, do a search there is a really good thread on this work. I have added to the end of it giving some details of the olives I and knifer tubing I used to do mine.

I only did mine on the straight section from the tank to the point where they disappear under the heat sheild behind the back of the engine. You can do the job in a day easily if you are only replacing the (relatively) straight floorpan section...

Not a bad job in the grand scheme of things. Unlike the rear subframe which I was doing at the same time and was a complete biatch...

I am always amazed that the "Sticky" section at the top of the forums is frequently overlooked when looking for info.

                  Cheers,

                  Steve.
