That's why at least in theory mass-flow systems are much more accurate - they don't need to guess VE.
However, because a MAP sensor is much, much more reliable than a MAF sensor and both systems can use WBO2 feedback all this is very circumstantial.

there is a IAT compensation but not a VE compensation. There is a basic VE fueling map. That gets compensated for TPS and IAT on a different table. There are no issues with fueling but a dyno will allow for more accurate tune on these areas.

this is what i have read :

the EGT sensor is in the higher part of the downpipe, just by the turbo hotside

this values are always with my shorter 5th gear

      rpm----------km/h----bar----ºF
      3.500--------125.......-0,4....1300 = 704ºC
      4000............140.......-0,4....1340 = 726ºC
      3000............110.......-0,3....1250 = 676ºC
      3500/5000.WOT.........2........1450 = 787ºC

oil temp: the wider signal between 60º and 120º in oour oil temp gauge
water temp: 85/87ºC driving in the motorway

      exterior temp 9ºC

realy you dont want egt to go over 850*c in hi gears and long periods if the motor is to last, higher temps will kill most engine componants. you could try 5% meth mix but keep you eye on afr

a higher AFR values ( leaner mixture) will gives more power but EGTs will increase a lot true? leaner AFR values are only nice with +100 fuel Octanes true?

            No.
            Read a book Rocco

Timing and boost is what gives power, fuel is just a tool to combat temperature.
Of course if you go too rich or too lean you will hurt power, but there is no point in doing that.
You will make more power by backing off timing or boost than running stupid rich.

rocco hi octain fuel allows you to exploit the timing giving you more advance adjustment because its more det resistant = more power. meth, bioethenol etc are very hi det resisting fuels but havent got as much energy as petrol so you need a lot more of it for the same bang. they also run a lot cooler than petrol. running lean on hard accelleration will kill the motor, never go leaner than 13/1. also cooling the egt with fuel is limited, as prj says it will at some point sap power. retarding timing also increases egt, so it is a lot of complications (these are just basic ones) to get the best out of a motor, thats why it realy will pay off to use a good mapper

I was just about to start a thread along the lines of this one so I'll just post in here.

I'd like to know where I shoudl fit my probe, the exhaust elbow pre turbo has a boss in their for a probe for when it was raced, due to be slightly concerned about a probe falling to bits I don't know if I want to fit one there so if its in the downpipe how far from the turbo would you mount it.

Are Inconel probes as indesructable as people say and if so does anyone know of a supplier ? Failing that can anyone advise a good normal probe to use in the downpipe.

                      Cheers

i have been using a probe ever since i fitted the 3071r before the turbo and never had a failure with the probe falling to bits. If manufacturers say they can widthstand 1200C+ then there shouldnt be a problem. I know it is a risk, but most tuners suggest to fit it on the turbo or before the turbo(EM) to get the most accurate readings. They should have more experience than me in making their suggestions. If they were seeing broken elements that often, the would suggest otherwise.

                            i have this :

Auber Instruments, Inc. Automobile Multimeter for EGT, Boost, Red [SYL-1813R] - This digital automobile gauge can be used to measure temperature, pressure and other important parameters, such as battery voltage and air/fuel ratio. Its bright LED display is easy to read from a distance compared to many dim LCD type digital gauges. The programmable alarm will turn on a blue LED in the front panel to get the driver's attention if the temperature/pressure is above the setting point. It will also close a relay output port that can be used to turn on a buzzer, shut off the fuel, or turn on a cooling fan. The meter stores the peak temperature/pressure with time stamps that can be checked later. It can also operate in the peak holding mode so that only the maximum value is displayed. The brightness of the LED display can be synchronized with headlights. When the headlight is turned on at night, the display will be dimmed by the illumination signal. It can also be dimmed directly on the key pad. Developed based on industrial grade instruments, this four digits gauge offers up to 10 times the resolution and accuracy of most 3 digits gauges on the market. The gauge also includes a cold junction compensation circuit to further reduce
