I would measure each shim from gridle to main cap first

Does the crank mainbearing line need to be line bored when you install a gridle? I have made(lasercut) 8 and 10mm gridles, but not sure if I use it at all...

Depends on the bolts that come with the kit. Assuming it is a complete kit?

If using 12.9 bolts which I assume it comes with looking at the txt then you'd have to shim the girdle to the caps within 1 thou after which you'd torque to factory spec using engine oil as thread lube.

If the you are using ARP studs then again after shimming you would torque the ARP studs the spec supplied in the ARP instructions.

I've got the cnc files for the girdle with the separate oil spacer. And just commisioned a company to waterjet cut some 690 High Tensile structural steel and surface grind it flat to exact spec. Although due to the choice of material just the plates themselves where £401.50. The actual labour to cut wasn't that much but the steel sheet came to just over £300 and the shipping £25.

As for line honing yes and no it al comes down to whether 1- the girdle is 100% straight. The Block sump face is 100% even (unlikely) and how accurately you shim the girdle. Any inaccuracy in any of those measurements would result in distortion of the mains requiring line honing.
