Well spotted, only up the road from me, as well. Will dig out a few bits at the weekend for next week.

Wonder has Macanmar spotted this thread yet?

    Thanks again.

I'll get an idea of the prices and report back. Being so close to you there is probably no huge panic but I'll give you a call if I'm bringing stuff over to them at any stage.

Engine bay bits + 2 subframes, 4 wishbones, 2 ARBs, 4 struts & 2 steering arms. I have to order some POR15 too.

No bother throwing in a few extra cans, MFTS? Did I miss something?

I spoke to that guy, Tony. He didn't want to price anything over the phone which is fair so I'm going to meet him this week. I might be in Dublin on Friday / Monday if any of the dubs would like to see vapour blasting in action.

does vapour blasting leave a pitted (rough) surface texture?
How would you maintain the finish.

At the moment my engine is most def. Function over form.

vapour blasting or aqua blasting is a very good process, although it works better on high quality aluminum. If you look at something which has been aqua blasted, the surface is quite smooth and actually looks like its been laquered. You'd think oil, grease and dirt etc would soak into it but it doesn't, it'll wipe straight off.

Vapour blasting should leave the surface smooth and non porous. Done correctly you should be able to wipe it clean of any oil or residue.

BTW if anybody is getting work done by the company I linked above it's best to request a sample of the finish. It's fair to say I'm still looking!

To keep it looking like new I was told just to rub it with a cloth and some WD-40, don't touch it with your bare hands as they have different oils in them.
Just some finishing touches to do now
