identifying an RS2 Exhaust camshaft ?

How does one identify an RS2 exhaust camshaft if the part numbers 034109022G are difficult if not impossible to see.

Friend bought an RS2 equipped AAN/UrS4
    - previous owner claimed that an RS2 exhaust camshaft was installed

Is there a way of comparing the ADU camshaft with a stock AAN one using a caliper?
    How would one do that?

    thanks in advance!

Tom: that's helpful information, but the problem is that its difficult to read the stamped part number in it's entirety, if not impossible. 034 1xxx xxxxx
If I place an RS2 ADU exhaust cam along side a known AAN one, is there a way of comparing the two using a dial caliper?

In addition to the post that Tom S. pointed you to, there is this one that I did based on data presented here (and supplemented by other materials):

Measure the lift by measuring the cam lobe with a micrometer at two points 90º to each other (one of them being the lobe "point") and taking the difference.

This is all helpful information, but what would really help is a picture of the part number stamping on the camshaft. All my friend could see was 034 102...
My AAN exhaust cam is stamped 034 102 F

i had some issue about 4 years ago. it is almost imposible to read part number. comparing aan vs adu camshafts will be beast option. you could also check camwheel position.....

so what if you don't have both camshafts in front of you, and given Audi's 9 digit plus letter numbering schema, why just a 6 digit stamp?

                      Two things:

                      1. I just checked the AAN exhaust cam that I replaced with an RS2 cam. Then AAN cam is marked "F" like yours.

                      2. As I said above: "Measure the lift by measuring the cam lobe with a micrometer at two points 90º to each other (one of them being the lobe "point") and taking the difference." I should have said vernier caliper instead of micrometer.
