    stock crank with scat rods

    Hy! I tried to find here an answer for this....
    Because the crank will be stock....and rods....scat, will affect the balancing? i should stay with oem rods. The ideea is that the oem rods have up to 7 grams diference between them. The scats are spot on.
    Dont know what to do...
    Thank you!

      Known that many people have put H-beam rods without balancing the bottom end with no problems at all.

        Super! Good to know.... Is pretty strange that the oem rods are sooooooo out of balance.
        rod nr.1= 643,4 grams
        nr.2= 646,3
        nr.3= 644,1
        nr.4= 642
        nr.5= 640,6
        Without the nuts...but with bolts.
        And the Aron rods i have are all 596,8 grams.
        Interesting how Audi is balancing the engines...
        Thank you again for answers!
        Regards!

          VR6 OEM rods are out of balance by as much as 20gramms on the small end alone!

          realistically in a perfect world you need to rebalance as the crank is balanced based on a percentage of the rod and piston assembly. However as the I5 crank is also an externally ballanced crank so long you stay within 5% of the original rod weight average it isn't the be all end all on a roadgoing car. You will do more harm by swapping the flywheel without rebalancing.

            interesting , and now you give me a reason for

            maybe it is because the flywheel are heavier than crank pulley , and when all parts are together , they are perfectly balanced. could that be possible?
