    starting the car

I have sometimes have a problem with starting my car. When I try to start the car with a cold engine it runs in a sec, when I start the car when the engine is hot it also runs in a sec. But when I drove the car turn the ignition off, then after one hour try to start the car again it takes a while before it starts .

Anyone an idea what this can be, the spark plugs?

    Kind regards,

    Erik de Bruijn

I had a problem very similar to yours when I changed to an alternate set of injectors.
I guessed that it was due to one or more of the injectors leaking fuel when allowed to stand for a few hours. I never confirmed my theory, however, the car was back to normal as soon as the original ones went back in.

Hmm, maybe I have to check the injectors. As far as I know I still have the original ones. If it has something to do with the fuel it can maybe also be the fuel pump, filter, or not?

I don’t know if it is normal but when I want to tank fuel and turn of the cap of the gas tank I always here a sissing sound, like it has a vacuum. Does everybody has that? My other cars didn’t make the noise.

Maybe I can use stuff that cleans the injectors, I believe it can be bought at a gas station.

      Thank,

      Erik

How long time is "a while"?

You have to crank these engines always long enough for the hall sender to give signal.

If "a while" is longer than few revolutions, I'd say we're talking about dodgy hall, hall wire contacts, worn dizzy gear, worn cam chain, leaking fuel pressure reg (doesn't hold the pressure) or some combination of the above. Or of course - something totally different

When the car is cold or hot it starts in two seconds. When the car have had a cool down period of an hour it takes about 5-7 seconds to start.

The things you mentiond porkkis can these cause the longer cranking periode after a cooling down periode of an hour.

          kind regards,

I would check the ignition amplifier (next to coil) on normal 5cylinders they can play up when they are warm (but not hot) / that or the injector as suggested earlier sounds good
