im havin trouble with this my self volt are ok sensor is new checked wiring back to ecu no brakes in it but still cums up on faults it runs ok some time and starts all the time but some times it run like its on kangeroo juice and lets at say at 1500 rpms it just cuts off power rpm needle goes to 1000 rps when i put clutch in then it cums back to life eney ideas!!! am lost?

Useful wax unsure as to the orientation of the two sensors, fitted them earlier , thanks Dave !

Dave if the G28 is showing up on vag com. Would you advice to replace the sensor?? Would it cause running issues like missing and lower boost read outs??

And where to buy a replacement. Rang tps is £100 quid to replace.

Maybe a cheaper alternative

VAG-com of VAG 1551 will *ALWAYS* show a G28 Engine Speed Sensor problem code when the codes are pulled with the engine no running (stopped). Nothing to worry about.

•2111 (Blink Fault Code), 00513 VAG1551/2 Fault Code Number
RPM sensor (G28)
Open or short circuit, sensor malfunction
Defective sensor & cables, metal fragments on flywheel teeth
Symptom: Engine will not start, misfires, may stop running

What about if the car starts, run well under boost up to 4900-5000, but after 5000rpm at 2 + bar boost make big bangs/detonations up to 5500-5800 (1,2 even 3 times) and just proceed to rev with full boost (2.3bar) up to 7800rpm.
The mistake all the time is - 00513 - Implausible signal - Intermittent.
We try everything to resolve this - no success - that mistake again. We change several times the G28 with those from other cars - not new ones, play with gap - nothing. Try to change the motronik, the POS, the spark plugs, even cut and spent new cables for G40 and G28 - nothing - same mistake and BANGS . We count the starter ring teeths - they are fine - no cracks, no missing pices - nothing.Just everything's fine with flywheel.
This starts when I change the fuel to E100. The plugs are NGK bcpr7es with gap 0.5 - we change the Bosch F5DP0R after some misfiring issues.
And all the time the same picture -driving the car at second gear from 2000rpm at FOT. Around 5000rpm - bang once or twice up to 5500 than again normal rev to 7800. Next gear - the same situation. At 4th gear too - several big bangs and 00513 - G28 sensor - Implausible signal - Intermittent...
